Mumbai Shenanigans

I was always a little skeptical to visit Mumbai (extended family bitchiness and all that). When people used to describe the ‘Mumbai feel’ I didn’t believe what it was. But spending just a couple of days in this beautiful city has left me spellbound. And now I know what ‘Bombay feel’ is all about.

It is rightly said that Mumbai is a city, but Bombay is an emotion. And I am in love with this mixed bunch of emotions already.

Mumbai really is the city of dreams and aspirations!
The transition between Delhi and Mumbai is wide. Delhi has its own charm. Dilli ki sardi, the beautiful Mughal architecture and the delectable food! Bombay on the other hand is very contemporary. The rustic old world buildings and warm people of the city win your heart in a jiffy. Moreover, I love how safe Mumbai is as a city. I could have never imaged roaming in public transport at 2 in the night in Delhi, but in Mumbai it feels really safe.

The overall vibe of the city is so chic that I cannot describe it in words. You’ll either love it or hate it, but will not be able to ignore it.

A super big thanks to my beloved cousin for making my stay in Mumbai so very awesome. I love you sisse, and hoping to see you soon again.

The beach facing high rise buildings of Bandra, the evergreen Marine Drive, Mannat, the grand Taj Palace Hotel and iconic Gateway of India, delicious goodies at Theobroma, Colaba and what not. I can go on and on.

Art Swag!
Mumbai ची  बेस्ट बस

Lunch was at Café Leopold followed by street shopping in Colaba. And as we were strolling the sky turned grey and it started pouring. Although a lot of my plans like getting tourist pictures clicked at Gateway, visiting the very popular kebab place ‘Bade Miyan’ and sitting at Marine Drive got washed away. But the good thing was Mumbai rains and epic prettiness.

Got back home with Red Velvet Cheesecake and Dense Loaf from Theobroma, Bacardi from local ‘theka’ (wine shop) and made life so much happier!

On my way back I was filled with heartwarming feelings of happiness and a promise to be back soon. Mumbai – thanks for being sooo good!

Evening Tea be like :)
