Over ambitious 'to-read' list
15
days into the New Year and my ‘to-read’ list looks somewhat sorted. In 2015 I couldn’t
complete my Goodreads challenge and was heartbroken about it (Nerd Girl Problem
221). This year I’ve decided that I wont let the miseries of love and life
affect my reading and happiness.

Happiness :) |
I
am all geared up and adding to the spark was the World Book Fair that I visited
last week. Although this time I was a little disappointed but even then quite a
few new babies found home.

Loot from the Book Fair :) |
Here
are some of the highlights of my ‘to-read’ list.
Fangirl
I’ve
been a total Rainbow Rowell Fangirl ever since I read Eleanor & Park and
now I am super excited to read this and know what the hype is all about.
Don Tillman Series
The
Rosie Project and The Rosie Effect
These have been on my list since quite a while
now. I was drawn to the idea instantly. So when I saw them at the Penguin Stall
at the Book Fair, I knew I was getting them home.
A lot of YAs
If you follow me on Instagram you’d know that I
am in my YA reading phase. Like last year I hope this year also I get to read
some phenomenal YA books and find life goals. Some that I am more than excited
to read are –
- The Marble Collector and Love, Rosie – Cecelia Ahern
Haven’t
read Cecelia for some time and I am sure it would be great to be back to her
whimsy fairy tale world.
- Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between – Jennifer E. Smith
Jennifer
Smith is like my second Rainbow Rowell and I am hoping it lives up to all the
high expectations.

- You Had Me at Hello – Mhairi McFarlane
Seems
full of happy and positive vibes...just what we need in life.
- Cold Hands, Warm Heart – Jill Wolfson
The
title was intriguing enough and when I read its sample on my beloved Kindle it
was amazing.
Thrillers
Adding
a little thrill in life is always a good idea. Off late I haven’t read a lot of
thrillers so I plan to get back to them.
- Agatha Christie
Nobody
can beat Agatha Christie in Thriller. Planning to read a few of these evergreen
thrillers this year.
- Journey Under the Midnight Sun – Keigo Higashimo
There
is something unique and amazing about Japanese thrillers. Very intense and
deep. You’d know what I am saying if you’ve read The Devotion of Suspect X and The
Salvation of a Saint (I loved them both). Also with this I would complete all
Keigo books. Yaaayyy :)
Feel Good
- Just One Day – Gayle Forman
After
reading If I Stay and Where She Went I’ve started liking the writing style and
freshness of Gayle’s books. Looking forward to reading this one this year.
- The Kabul Beauty School – Deborah Rodriguez
I
loved ‘The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul’ and am hoping this one touched my heart
in a similar way.
- After You – Jojo Moyes
Jojo
Moyes is in the list of my current favorite authors. I looovveee her writing. Simple
yet so heartwarming just like the morning sunshine…
