Top 6 Pakistani Dramas to Binge Watch

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful day. Since most of us are spending time indoors, binge-watching has become a part of life. Watching Money Heist or Dark is fine, but the fun of watching Pakistani dramas with mom is a different league.

pakistani serials to binge watch

I and mom have enjoyed some of the gems in the past few months, so I thought it would be great to share my favorite Pakistani dramas that you can binge-watch. We’re all the same on both sides, they crazy fans of Bollywood and we adore Coke Studio, so why not manifest love, peace, and harmony and appreciate art in all forms regardless of boundaries and borders.

For the love of khussas, kebabs, and Humayun Saeed, let’s begin.

  • Ehd – e- Wafa

This is a beautiful story based on friendship. 4 friends in a boarding school take different paths in life, but the one thing that keeps them connected is the love and their strong friendship. The characters are so well fleshed out, each of them has a certain depth, and you are invested in all their stories.

There’s drama, emotions, and lots of laughter, and a special appearance by Humayun Saeed is like the cherry on the cake. So enjoy this light-hearted and happy play!

  • Khaas

If you’re a fan of Sanam Baloch, then this one’s perfect for you. It is her comeback drama and what a comeback it has been. It’s a layered love story and touches on various aspects of a woman’s life like respect and self-esteem. Sanam Baloch is so convincing and gives a heart-winning performance. You can actually feel her pain and want to give her a hug and tell her everything will be fine.

  • Yeh Dil Mera

This one’s mom’s favorite for many reasons – impeccable acting, gripping plot, Sajal Aly looking like a million bucks, and Adnan Siddique (the star of the show).

pakistani drama yeh dil mera

It is an intense thriller that traces the journey of Mir Farooq who is a wicked man and has done many things in the past. How that past connects to the present and how his daughter has to pay for his sins is the main plot. Ahad Raza Mir delivers a stellar performance and is so convincing in all the emotions he depicts. Loved this play with all my heart…..

  • Cheekh

If you’re looking for something gripping that’s not a family drama or a love story, then Cheekh will be the perfect choice for you. The story revolves around three friends, one of them is brutally murdered and it is on the protagonist Saba Qamar to get her friend justice.

OMG I don’t have words for this amazing play. It is beautiful and traces a journey of growth and how when you decide to be truthful life is never easy. Saba Qamar looks so pretty and of course, there’s no match to her brilliant acting. I think this was my favorite play of all the ones I have recently watched.

  • Suno Chanda

After all these thrillers and emotional roller coaster, it is time to relax with a comedy play and what better choice than Suno Chanda. It is a full-on family comedy with so many mazedaar characters that it’ll be difficult to choose a favorite.

The main story is of Jia and Arsal who are first cousins and don’t want to marry each other. But slowly they realize they’re made for each other and start falling in love. Also a special mention to Nadia Afgan and her Punjabi accent – it was too good.

I have to be honest that I’m biased towards Season 1, but nonetheless, it was a delight to watch and a laugh riot overall. My favorite romance was between Bi Jaan and Agha Ji, there’s just something about old-school love that’s mushy and classy!

  • Mere Pass Tum Ho

Saved the best for the last! Mere Pass Tum Ho is the story of a middle-class married couple Danish and Mehwish. Mehwish has bigger dreams and falls in love with a business tycoon played by the dapper Adnan Siddique.

The super emotional story and how infidelity is not gender-specific. Whatever I say about this play will be less. Every bit of it is amazing, Humayun Saeed, the little kid Rumi, the story, Ayeza Khan and her transformation, all the side characters, and of course Adnan Siddique being brilliant in whatever he does. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending and that was a total bummer.

Let me know if you’ve watched any of these and if there’s any other Pakistani drama that you’ve loved. And all this Corona, if you meet me and find my Urdu a tad bit better, you know where I learned it from.
