5 easy homemade fruit face packs

With the mercury soaring it is time to give your skin the much needed refreshment, rejuvenation and of course protection. The harsh summer sun can be so damaging for the skin. A pamper session at the spa will certainly help, but we cannot afford to go to the salon every second day. Lovelies, it is time to raid your kitchen and fridge and give your skin a blast of freshness.

Read on find some easy-peasy fruit face packs that can be made at home. Use them and be ready to flaunt that radiant glowing skin.

Apple Crumble

Those crunchy, juice red apples, aah…delicious. But the next time you enjoy an apple, make sure you don’t throw away its skin. Rub the inner side of the apple skin all over your face and wash it off with cool water. It is a natural cleanser.
  • For dry skin – Mix 1 teaspoon grated apple with half teaspoon glycerin to form a smooth paste. You can also use honey instead of glycerin. Apply all over your face and let it dry for 20 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. This pack will replenish the lost moisture in your skin.

Orange Treat

Oranges are a powerhouse of Vitamin C and can work wonders for your skin. Vitamin C can be irritating on the skin. I highly recommend a patch test.
  • Rub the inner side of the orange peel all over your face and neck. It will slow the ageing process by tightening the skin.
  • Dry some orange peels and grind them to make a fine powder. Mix it with rosewater and a natural scrub is ready. You can use this exfoliation once a week followed by a face pack.
  • Take 1 cup of yogurt, 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Mix it into a fine paste. Keep it on for 15 minutes and then wash off with cool water. This pack is great to moisturize your skin.

Mango Mania

The one good thing about summers – Mangoes! As much as you relish, trust me your skin will also love it.
Mix pulp of 1 mango with a tablespoon of curd. Apply it evenly all over your face and neck. Let it dry and wash off with cool water. This pack will enhance cell regeneration, remove dullness and give you a natural glow.

Delicious Watermelon

Watermelons are a great source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C. They are 90% water and very fibrous. Use it in various forms as face packs for summers and your skin will thank you!
  • Mash a few slices of watermelon (better if it is chilled) and apply on your face, neck and hands. Wash it off with cool water. It helps soothe sunburn.
  • Mash a slice of watermelon and add a small spoon of curd to make a fine paste. Both watermelon and curd help in hydrating your skin. Curd will also remove dead skin and leave your skin looking glowing and feeling supple.
  • For oily or sensitive skin – if you have oily skin then all you need to do is mash a watermelon and a teaspoon of honey to it. Apply on your face and let it dry for 15 minutes before washing with cool water. Honey will soak the excess oil and watermelon will make your skin soft and radiant.

Papaya Magic

Tanning, skin darkening and pigmentation are the reasons for which I dread stepping out in the sun (and I am sure you also face the same problem). But don’t worry, your savior is here. The enzyme ‘papain’ in papaya helps in removing dead skin, making papaya a great exfoliator.
  • For dry skin: Mix 1 – 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of honey with mashed papaya and apply this paste on your face. Wash it off after about 15 – 20 minutes for a radiant glow.
  • For the lazy ones: Mash a few pieces of papaya and apply on your face. Let it dry for 20 minutes and then wash it off. What you shall get is a clear and happy skin.

The ingredients that you are using are natural and healthy, which means that the glow and the blush shall also be natural. Unearth the hidden treasures from your kitchen and witness magic.
Let me know which of these are you most excited to try and which one worked best for you.
