The week that was!

Half of March has swooshed past and it seems like yesterday that the New Year started. The week gone by has been great. A mixed bag of feelings and a lot of online shopping to make things all the more awesome!

Blogged about my mid-month frustrations earlier in the week which apparently mom really liked, so I am super happy.
Mid-week was quite productive. Brainstormed for some great ideas for the blog. Added a lot of things to the March lust list as well. Will blog about them soon.

The most encouraging part of the week has been the perfect weather. I and a really close friend of mine call it DND weather. We boyfriend deprived girls always fantasized about a bike ride (of course not with each other) at Delhi-Noida toll road in such beautiful weather, so that’s why DND weather. Although fantasies never became reality, they have been etched on our hearts.
Also one week of no fighting with bae! Yaayy…That is quite an achievement. So much we fight na…The dogs and cats type, I being the doggieee (because they are cuter)!
My weekend began on Thursday night itself and the unexpected Delhi rains made it very special.

Friday was stay in bed and enjoy chai and be lazy kind of day!
The week description is incomplete until I mention this fabulous book I finished reading. Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella. Refreshing, cute and so romantic, a perfect spring read.

Spent Saturday evening at Cha Bar, Oxford Bookstore. The waiting was a complete turn off, but then it became bearable because there were books all around. I had such high expectations which unfortunately got soiled. It is like any other café, so not a book café. Though Keema Samosas and Coorg Filter Coffee proved to be great accompaniments for an overcast evening.

Came home and mom made delicious bacon pizza. Oh! Mom what would I do without you. Not to forget the heavenly brownies that we baked with dollops of love.

Sunday was feast time. We had an extravagant and fulfilling garden party. Lots of yummy food including irresistible barbeque chicken, pretty flowers and great weather gave the afternoon a perfect vacation feel. Just the mountains were missing!
With Pa - Sunday Garden Party!
I met this lady at the lunch gathering and I cannot stop admiring her courage. Her husband is the commanding officer (CO) at Siachen Glacier. The moment I heard this, I was zapped. She and her little son were thoroughly enjoying the party, but inside I am sure she must be carrying a glacier of feelings herself. That fear, that longing to be in his arms, sharing the experiences of the day or just lying next to him. You know if officers and jawans are fighting a battle there, their respective wives are surely fighting mightier battles. I am glad to have met her and know that this little experience will stay with me for many years to come.

The week also saw a lot of online shopping. The long awaited Nykaa parcel came and I finally got my FabIndia Aloe Vera under eye gel. Also got the Dulce Couture package delivered with two beautiful watches, a personalized note and Phantom cigarettes – 90's revisited.

As of now, I am enjoying my Jodi Picoult phase and some chocolate does no harm.
See you soonish!
