Top 5 Creepy Books - Part I

Hi everyone!

Back with another book post!
Taking a break from the squishy rom-coms and YA books, I thought it’ll be a great idea to share some of my favorite creepy books.  So this time without a long introduction and emotional ramble, let’s just jump straight to the list.

  • Sybil (Flora Rheta Schreiben)
Sybil had to top my list of favorite creepy books. It is by far the creepiest and the most disturbing books I’ve ever read. It’s a true story of Sybil, a young girl with multiple personalities, 16 to be precise.
Thank you ma, for this superlative recommendation.

Spend a lazy weekend with this gem.
Scary, nasty and sinister vibes are on point. There was a controversy about the book that Sybil’s therapist made up the entire story. I don’t know the authenticity of this story, but this book succeeds in sending a chill down the spine.
You can also watch the movie adaptation, which takes the feel to a new level altogether.

  • Gone Girl (Gillian Flynn)
If you’re looking for an intense and intriguing page turner, then this is what you should be reading. It’s eerie, gruesome, and keeps you hooked. Amy is the star of the show. She’s like dusk, shades of coral and grey run parallel.

There really are two sides to every story. Read this and find out both the sides.
Amy disappears and her loving husband Nick, becomes the prime suspect. Find  out whether Nick is the killer or Amy’s diary has some hidden secrets. Watch the movie and you’ll love it even more.

  • The Snowman (Jo Nesbo)
Recommended to me by a friend (Aakriti thank you for this), Jo Nesbo’s The Snowman is fiercely amazing. It scared the hell out of me. Everything is revealed, yet it keeps you guessing.
Terrifying at places, its fast paced and ghoulish. The description of the deaths happening is beyond gruesome.

Loved this!
One of the best crime mysteries and creepy books I’ve read this year, The Snowman is certainly going on the 2016 favorite’s shelf.

  • Into the Darkest Corner (Elizabeth Haynes)
Highly recommend this to the fans of psychological thrillers. It traces the relationship of beautiful Catherine and dapper Lee. How the relationship transforms into a nightmare with Lee turning a monster is a major part of the book.

Creepy gets a whole new meaning with Into the Darkest Corner
You know that feeling when you think someone is keeping an eye on you, following every move of yours. Even as Catherine embarks on a new journey, the fear and her past refuse to leave her side. She meets Stuart and thinks life is sorted. And then one day the phone rings….

  • Stolen (Lucy Christopher)
A young girl, Gemma is stolen from Bangkok airport and is taken to the Australian arid outback. The wild and barren land has nothing but Gemma and Ty, her captor.
Ty loves Gemma and she is the only person he wants in his life. By cutting all ties from the outside world, Ty forces Gemma to fall in love with him.

A roller coaster ride of your emotions
Each day of survival is filled with anxiety, hatred and struggle. You can feel Gemma’s helplessness and fear. It is fascinatingly written in the form of a letter from Gemma to Ty. The details, good and bad aren’t spared which make Stolen a creepy read.

Hope you like reading these, and if you have any recommendations the comments section awaits you. Also stay tuned for part II of this series.

Until then happy reading!
